alas!.. the Deepavali mood has entered into my house... my sis and I followed our folks to Little India to do our Deepavali shopping as Deepavali is juz a week away.. thank god I have already bought my punjabi suite quite early.. seeing the newly hiked up prices pierces my heart man!..
There wasnt really much shopping to do since my sis, mom and I have bought our punjabi suites.. so we headed to the Little India fair to buy our necklace set and bangles to match the outfit.. After getting that.. we juz want jalan jalan at the fair.. and I met my fren Naren.. selling his usual yearly snacks.. Its kinda of weird how we became frens.. Our 1st meeting ended up in a huge fight.. Thanks to Carmeni and Lalithaa.. we started to talk each other.. those were the merry secondary school days.. haiz!..
so after our shopping was done.. the big headache came... shopping baju for my dad!!.. For the past 5 yrs.. I have been my father's dressing critic... My dad has a lousy dressing sense (nt really tt bad.. but still bad!).. and my mom always gives in to him (typical housewife!).. But me!.. haha.. I always fight with him whenever he choses the ugliest things.. and tdy was no diff.. I saw this great indian outfit for my dad.. and he was refusing saying it is too grand and all tt.. I know he is old.. ageing and balding.. but still.. he is my dad!.. which daughter will like her dad to look weird and old?.. so yeah after a huge fight and some attitude showing minutes.. my dad finally bought the outfit I chose... *yipee*
after tt we went back to Little India Arcade fair for my favourite thing.. HENNA!.. if there is one tradition I am proud and fond of is HENNA!.. I simply love the artwork of Henna though the smell gives me headache... Last yr Deepavali I missed out putting Henna.. thus this yr.. I have it on both my hands!!!... wohooooo! and going back to the fair opened my dad's creative side and he started shopping for decoration stuff for the house.. haha.. I think he is becoming mad as he is ageing.. he bought quite alot of decorative items for the house.. and I have no IDEA where it is going to land up.. As long as it doesnt end up in my room, this yr deepavali will be great!...
